Project Story (June 2020)

In June 2020, a quarry contractor near Riyadh started expanding its limestone production capacity to meet increasing demand from local highway and infrastructure projects.

The client required a heavy-duty primary crushing solution capable of processing large limestone blocks continuously under high-temperature desert conditions. After evaluating multiple suppliers, the client selected the PE900×1200 large jaw crusher provided by Henan Haolu Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd.

The complete crushing line included a vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, conveyor systems, and centralized electrical control cabinet. Our engineering team assisted the customer with foundation layout, installation, and on-site commissioning.

Despite extreme summer temperatures exceeding 40°C, the crushing plant was successfully commissioned within 25 days.

Detailed Project Outcome

1. Stable High-Capacity Crushing

After entering operation, the PE900×1200 jaw crusher maintained stable crushing performance:

  • Feeding size reached up to 750 mm;
  • Average production capacity maintained 220–280 tons/hour;
  • Daily operating time exceeded 12 hours during peak production periods.

By the end of 2020, cumulative crushed limestone production exceeded 180,000 tons.

2. Reliable Operation Under Desert Conditions

Saudi Arabia’s high temperatures and dusty environment created demanding working conditions.

The client reported that:

  • The flywheel and transmission system operated smoothly during long working shifts;
  • Bearings maintained stable temperatures during continuous operation;
  • The jaw plates showed low wear rates under heavy crushing conditions;
  • The electrical control system remained reliable despite dust exposure.

The equipment maintained stable production throughout the summer season.

3. Improved Aggregate Quality

The customer noted significant improvements in aggregate consistency after switching to the new crushing system:

  • Finished material size became more uniform;
  • Oversized stone content decreased noticeably;
  • Downstream screening efficiency improved;
  • Material waste was reduced.

The crushed material was successfully used for highway base layers and concrete aggregate production.

4. Reduced Maintenance & Downtime

The quarry manager highlighted the equipment’s stable structure and low maintenance requirements:

  • Jaw plate replacement intervals were extended;
  • Lubrication maintenance became more convenient;
  • Downtime was reduced by approximately 30% compared with older crushing equipment.
